1993 Jeep Wrangler Rebuild

 

 

Here is my 1993 Jeep Wrangler. I bought her from a salvage yard for $2000. She was hit in the front passengers side and  needed some work.

The inside needs some work as well. No carpet, no stereo, and the 142,000 miles has taken it's toll.

I replaced the bent up bumper with a used one (and new bumper ends). Then the rotted dented fenders were unbolted. She looks kind of cool without them, but I'll never get it to pass a State re-title inspection without them. To the trash pile with the old ones.

The fenders were painted and bolted on. The rotted tailgate was removed and I cut off all the bad areas and welded new steel to it. Fiberglass was applied and sanded, then the tailgate was painted. 

Since the windshield was cracked, we removed it and cleaned up the windshield frame, then that was painted as well.

Next, the body had some serious rot  around the wheel wells. I removed all the graphic decals, then I cut out the bad areas and welded in new steel panels that I made. A layer of body filler and some sanding was next. I also cleaned up the hinges and got them ready for the paint.

Once the paint was dry, the fender flares were put back on. I fabricated a set of shackles to add a 1" lift.  I purchased a chrome grille cover and some aluminum diamond plate running guards on ebay. The spare tire was replaced and I put my Harley Davidson wheel cover on.

The interior received new carpet and a new CD player.

I fabricated a grille guard and a dirt bike carrier. I used a Honda motorcycle taillight for the brake light on the motorcycle carrier. Here are the latest photos.
